There are a variety of reasons you may have to move to another Nashville apartment in your building. A sewage line busted and your carpet was covered in raw sewage. You are in a top floor Nashville apartment and water damage caved in the roof in your living room. You can no longer climb the three flights of stairs to your Nashville apartment and a ground level Nashville apartment has become available.

Regardless of the reason, you have to move to another Nashville apartment. You did not like moving into the Nashville apartment you currently have, and you definitely are not looking forward to moving into your new Nashville apartment. The following suggestions will help make this move as painless and effortless as possible for you.

You should pack your boxes so that if anything is broken in the move, you know you are probably responsible. Get heavy boxes so the boxes do not fall apart when lifted. Pack your boxes by room and label each box as to the room it goes in. Move all of your boxes against the walls so the movers have a path to walk through. Move your furniture out of the way as well. Just push it back toward the walls so the movers do not trip on anything or bang into furniture.

You can either hire a moving company or hire a couple of your neighbors to move your belongings. If you hire neighbors, remember they are not professionals. Do not expect them to move your stuff without a few scrapes and breaks along the way. Be prepared to pay neighbors on the day they move you. You do not want to create resentment or bad feelings with people you live near.

More than likely, the Nashville apartment you are moving to has either the same floor plan or a mirror version. Therefore, have your movers start in the room farthest away from the front door. Move the furniture in first. They will place the furniture exactly where you want it in the new Nashville apartment. Boxes will be placed in the appropriate rooms for you to unpack. Boxes should not block doorways. You should have a walking path from one side of the room to the other.

Once your movers have placed all of your furniture and boxes in your new Nashville apartment, you are ready to unpack. Begin in the back room again. As you empty boxes, stack them in another one. You should be able to quickly hang up clothes and put clothes back in dressers. Once you are finished with the back room, start moving forward until you are in the living room.

In the living room, make sure your furniture is exactly where you want it. Once you situate your furniture, begin to unpack your living room boxes. Your kitchen may be the slowest unpack just because you have foodstuff that you will want to sort and organize.

Once you empty all of your boxes, immediately dispose of them. Hopefully you have identified someone else who can use the boxes. Your landlord might be able to use them. If not, place them near the garbage bin. If someone can use the boxes, they will get them.

You are ready to make your final touches. Go through each room, straighten pictures, brush out wrinkles on blankets, and rearrange knick-knacks. Your last step is to vacuum to make sure all of your debris and paper/box dust is off your carpet. You should start in the back room and vacuum your way forward.

By following these suggestions, you should enjoy a painless and quick move in to your new Nashville apartment. You are likely to keep your rooms the same or similar. It will not be like when you moved into to your initial Nashville apartment and you had to figure out where to put everything. You are basically moving your belongings in an organized fashion from one place to a similar place.

Do you love to garden or just be outside? Do you prefer open outdoors to stuffy indoors? Do you live where the seasons drastically change? Think you cannot have a “green” Nashville apartment? Think again.

Bringing the outdoors indoors has never been easier. The first step is to let light in throughout your Nashville apartment. Keep curtains open during the day. Natural lighting provides the feel of the outdoors. Many people find natural lighting energizing. Open windows throughout your Nashville apartment on days that are sunny and warm. The air from open windows on cooler days can also be refreshing.

Plants are perfect vehicles to bring the outdoors into your Nashville apartment. If you do not know anything about plants and how to care for them, ask a local gardener which plants are most suitable for Nashville apartments. Be sure to ask for specific instructions to properly care for the plants.

Flowers can be placed in any room in your Nashville apartment. Fresh cut flowers are great for center piece vases in your living room. Fresh flowers are not always ideal for your dining room, especially if you use your dining room table for meals. The smell of the flowers may be overwhelming. If you do not like fresh flowers or have allergies to them, consider using floral swags in your rooms. Wreaths are nice accent pieces as are garlands, both of which can include flowers of any kind.

Container plants are great for your patio or balcony. While the plants remain outside, you will have a perfect view of them through your patio or balcony doors as long as you keep the curtains open. You can also place container plants throughout your Nashville apartment, particularly in your kitchen, dining room, and living room. Container plants may include small trees.

Small indoor herb gardens are easy to maintain. If your kitchen has a window, you can place the garden on the window sill. If you have a galley kitchen with no window, find another appropriate spot for your garden. Herb gardens do not need much tending but some do need sun for as much as four hours a day.

Aquariums are great focal points in any room. You do not have to use the aquarium to house fish or other water life. Be creative. You can keep plants or other greenery in the aquarium. Or you can keep the water life theme minus the fish. Place colorful coral in the aquarium along with plants such as Java Ferns and Java Moss.

Consider repainting your walls using earth tones. Creams and tans are nice reflections of earth while pale blue or greens can reflect the sky, seas, and grass. If you do not want to repaint your walls, you might replace your furniture or use furniture covers in these tones and color schemes.

While wall color may subtly reflect the outdoors, you can hang wall art that features the outdoors, including plant life. Seascapes and landscapes are nice accents to rooms that include plants or aquariums. Of course, floral pictures come in a variety of designs that suit just about everyone. Any of these types of pictures are suitable in any room, including the bathroom.

Bowls full of fruit are natural reminders of the outdoors. These are perfect in the kitchen as well as on your dining room table. It may be appropriate to place a fruit bowl on a side table in your living room.

As you can tell, it is pretty easy to bring the outdoors indoors. It is also relatively inexpensive as many of these suggestions involve one time purchases and little maintenance. Regardless, you will find that a touch of the outdoors inside your Nashville apartment goes a long way toward lightening your Nashville apartment as well as your mood.

You have a Nashville apartment, but do you have a home. Do you have a place you call your own. Do you, in fact, have a “pad”? Whether you are male or female, this is the place your friends hang out. You can easily turn your Nashville apartment into your home.

Before you get started, set a budget. You do not need loads of greenbacks to update your Nashville apartment. Decide how much you want to spend and then stick to that. Now take a tour of your Nashville apartment. Yes, you have lived there for a while. But when was the last time you looked at it? Know what space you have to work with.

You are probably working with limited space since you are in a Nashville apartment. With that in mind, start with a color scheme. One. This will make your Nashville apartment appear larger than it really is. Choose a light color. Dark colors make spaces seem smaller. You do not have to go neutral, just light. Use this color throughout your Nashville apartment. If you decide on a darker color for your walls, make sure this is permissible in your lease. If you are not sure, ask your landlord.

Now comes the fun part. Add personality to the Nashville apartment. Your personality. Select paintings and other wall hangings that interest you. Place photographs strategically throughout your pad. Black and white photographs are great accents. Have your favorite photographs framed and hang them on the walls. Photographs are great for hallway walls.

Use sheer curtains throughout to lighten up your Nashville apartment. You can use night blinds if you need absolute darkness to sleep. But during the day, let the light in. Add decorative pillows to your couch. Do not forget floor pillows. Your friends will love them, especially those that like sitting on the floor. Area rugs add a nice splash of color to rooms, especially the living room.

You do not need to spend much money on furniture. Visit your local Goodwill store or Salvation Army for good used furniture. Check your local paper for estate sales. These are great places to pick up contemporary or antique furniture at significantly reduced costs. Consider dual-purpose furniture such as a sofa bed. This will help maximize space.

Place books on topics that interest you on your living room coffee table or end tables. Include a few in your dining room. You can stack large books in a corner and place a plant on top. Books are great conversation pieces. Using decorative bookends to display books on top of your entertainment center or kitchen hutch.

Add character to your bedroom. Hang an interesting piece of art over the headboard to your bed. Get an interesting bedside lamp. Your bedroom is a great place for your favorite photographs. If you have room, a small bookcase can hold your photographs, books, trophies, or other special belongings. Keep your clothing out of sight, either in dressers or the closet.

Plants are great additions to any room. Container plants are perfect for Nashville apartments. If you are not interested in taking care of plants, do not shy away from artificial plants. Fake ferns are wonderful. Fake is all right. Cheap is not. Plastic floors are a no-no. Always buy silk flowers if you have to buy artificial. Tall plants, or small trees, are great in corners.

Do not spend your excessive money on things to impress others. Buy things that are important to you. Your Nashville apartment will be your home, your pad, when it reflects your personality. Your friends will come over because they feel comfortable in your home. They feel comfortable because you make it comfortable.

Feng Shui is all about energy. Specifically it is about harmonious energy. You cannot be in harmony with your environment if you have a cluttered or messy Nashville apartment. Your Nashville apartment reflects you. If your Nashville apartment is cluttered, you may feel depressed or discontent with your life. If your Nashville apartment is clean and organized, you will feel confident and happy.

It may seem like a chore, but you must declutter your Nashville apartment to live a harmonious life. This is not merely about cleaning. This is about getting rid of stuff you no longer need to make room for new stuff in your life. This may cause a mild panic attack, especially if you are a pack rat. But do not worry, because you will survive.

Start with a general sweep of your Nashville apartment. You will likely find lots of paper products you just do not need like stacks of newspapers, old magazines, piles of junk mail and used books. If you are not using these items, toss them. You might feel attached to your books. In this case, at least trade the old for the new. You have read your current supply of books. This becomes dead energy. Swap the books for new homes to bring positive energy into your Nashville apartment.

Now look for other piles of stuff. These could be excessive DVDs or CDs. Perhaps you are overrun with video games. Be honest with yourself. Do you really watch each of the DVDs or listen to each of the CDs on a regular basis? When was the last time you played that particular video game? Again, you can swap these items out, old for new. Or just get rid of them.

Next is your clothing. Sort your clothes into “yes”, “no”, and “maybe” piles. Then get rid of the “no” and “maybe” piles. Do not even think about it. If it is not in the “yes” pile, discard it. If you have no “no” or “maybe” piles, start again and try a little harder. Do the same with your shoes. If you have not worn the clothes or shoes in the past 6 months, you do not need them.

If you have children, let them sort their toys. Of course they will say they need to keep everything. Set guidelines for them. If the toy is broken or missing a part, it goes in the “no” pile. The toys they play with most goes in the “yes” pile. Give them the chance to sort their toys before you add to the piles.

Make sure you have no piles of laundry on the floor. Keep dirty laundry in baskets or hampers. Do not place items on window sills. You want to be able to easily open your windows and let in light and fresh air. You can spruce up your Nashville apartment by adding color throughout it. Nashville apartment plants also add energy.

Kitchens should be kept clean at all times. Clean your refrigerator at least monthly. Take the garbage out regularly. Do not use your kitchen table to hold all of the items you are trying not to accumulate – newspapers, magazines, and junk mail. Read them and throw them away.

Is there a particular room you just hate? Make this your last stop. Take a deep breath, step in to the room, and just take it in. What do you hate about it? If it is something specific, fix it. If you do not know, you might consider removing everything from the room and starting over. Completely redecorate the room. Perhaps there is a better placement for the furniture. Maybe the color scheme was all wrong. Whatever the issue, just start over and try again.

If you want to be happier, it can really be as simple as straightening up your Nashville apartment. Eliminate stuff you no longer need or use. Simplifying your space simplifies your life. You invite new energy into your Nashville apartment and into your life.

Now that you have your first Nashville apartment, you are ready to go shopping. But wait! Before you spend one penny and start your descent into debt, create a list of the absolute “must-haves” for your Nashville apartment. Then develop a list of “would-like-to-haves” for the future.

Do not respond to the almost overwhelming need to fill all of the space in your Nashville apartment. Address your immediate needs first. Take your time getting the other nonessential items.

List each room in your Nashville apartment and identify your must-haves. Begin with your bathroom since this is the first room you are likely to need. Be sure you have all basic personal hygiene items such as toilet paper, toothpaste and toothbrush, soap, and shampoo. The only other two items you must have are a bathroom trash can and a shower curtain. If the Nashville apartment came with a shower curtain, decide if you want to take the time to clean it or just get a new one. You may or may not need shower rings for your shower curtain.

The next room you will use is probably the kitchen. In addition to basic groceries, you will need pots and pans, dishware and utensils. You can get these items in boxed sets. Initially, you might even want to use disposable plates, cups and utensils. In addition to cost savings, this will save you dish washing time. You will need a trash can for your kitchen.

Now consider your bedroom. Of course you will need a bed and mattress. Make sure you know the size of your bedroom so you purchase the appropriate size bed and mattress. You will also need bedding such as sheets, pillows, and comforter. Consider how you want to organize your clothes. You can get a dresser or an organizer for your closet. Stackable plastic drawers are a nice alternative to dressers. The best choice for you may be based on style, functionality or price. You might want to get another trash can for your bedroom. Many people only use trash cans in the bathroom and kitchen.

Your windows may or may not include blinds. If they do not, purchase blinds at minimum. You might want to purchase curtains as well. Blinds are necessary for privacy and to keep rooms dark at night for sleeping purposes. Curtains provide an extra level of protection against light and outdoor weather. Curtains also help minimize outside noise.

You may or may not need additional lighting. If you do, think about purchasing tabletop or floor lamps. You can use a lamp in your bedroom, living room and dining room. You can purchase a sofa for your living room as well. Consider a convertible sofa that can also be used as a bed. Futons are great alternatives as well. This type of couch might come in handy if you have an unexpected overnight guest.

You do not need to get a formal dining room set right away. You can get a small kitchen set or a two-chair high table outfit. If you really do not want to spend money, buy a card table with two or four folding chairs. You can upgrade to a large dining room table in the future.

If you work at home, you might need a desk and chair. You can use a small folding banquet table for your desk. Use one of the folding chairs that came with the card table. There is no need to buy a fancy desk or chair.

You do not need to spend a lot of money when you rent your first Nashville apartment. Stick with the basics until you have money to spare. Even then, do not go on a spending binge for Nashville apartment furniture!
